Under the terms of the deal the two companies will collaborate on incorporating the fast-charging technology into Polestar vehicles. A prototype will be demonstrated next year, and StoreDot said it hopes Polestar cars using its extreme fast-charging batteries will be on the road by 2027. Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said the collaboration with StoreDot would give EV owners "the ability to recharge in minutes". "What used to be range anxiety in electric vehicles is now transforming to charging anxiety," StoreDot CEO Doron Myersdorf said. Polestar last month said deliveries of electric vehicles (EV) rose 50% in the third quarter from a year earlier but fell 12% from the second quarter.

StoreDot has begun using Circulor's technology to track the origin and carbon emissions of the raw materials in its battery cells. Legislative pressure is rising on electric vehicle makers and battery producers to track the human rights and environmental impact of their supply chains. BERLIN, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Electric vehicle batterymaker Italvolt will license fast-charging battery technology from Israeli start-up StoreDot to manufacture lithium-ion batteries at a plant it is raising funds to build in Italy, the companies said on Monday. Italvolt will ringfence a minimum amount of the batteries produced at the plant for StoreDot's business and customers, Italvolt's statement said, without specifying the amount. Fast-charge capability could also enable EV manufacturers to install smaller battery packs and thus lower the cost of their cars. Currently, StoreDot licenses technology to its manufacturing partner EVE Energy (300014.SZ) to produce batteries in China and ship to customers in China and Korea. Italvolt is one of a handful of battery startups trying to raise money and build a homegrown European battery industry to compete with the Asian giants that dominate global sales.

O companie israeliană a dezvoltat un tip de baterie pentru mașinile electrice, care se încarcă aproape la fel de repede pe cât îi ia unui șofer să facă plinul cu benzină la o mașină, potrivit The Guardian. O companie din Israel a reușit să producă prima baterie pentru mașini electrice care se poate încărca complet în numai cinci minute. Bateria pe litiu a fost dezvoltată de israelienii de la StoreDot și produsă de compania Eve Energy în China pe o linie standard de producție, scrie digi24.ro. Bateria care se încarcă în doar cinci minute este produsă pe baza unei tehnologii care are aceleași costuri cu bateriile auto obișnuite. Compania StoreDot a mai produs prin această tehnologie inovatoare baterii destinate telefoanelor, dronelor și scuterelor electrice. Faptul că încărcarea bateriilor durează mult și teama de a nu rămâne fără baterie în mijlocul drumului sunt motivele pentru care multă lume ezită încă să-și cumpere un vehicul electric.
